I’ve been into taking pictures from a very young age while owning my very first film camera even before entering High School. I can still remember those times when I need to decide whether I should get the 12, 24 or 36 exposure shots for a film. Let alone accidentally opening the back of the camera and exposing the film to light and damaged everything.

What about going to shops to process your pictures and found out all shots were dark. Much worse than a dreaded nightmare, the negatives were over-exposed and you see nothing. Then you still need to pay the processing fee.

Photography has changed a lot from the time I started learning it. And then came the smartphones.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom

The high-powered, dual lens smartphone was announced in January 2017. It’s one of the newest members of the Zenfone 3 family of smartphone and the successor to the original Zenfone Zoom released in 2015. The ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom was launched in the Philippines on April 6th.

Zenfone 3 Zoom is proud of its “built for photography” concept same with the Zenfone 3 Max, but with much power and much better capabilities to take pictures because of the dual lens technology. This interests me with my passion for photography since my skills are all self-taught. I do not have proper education and orientation of how to do it the right kind of way.

Capture Every Moment

I went out and about and did a testing of the Zenfone 3 Zoom smartphone. With the dual lens camera, I was able to take impressive shots even during low light and at night. Below are my sample photos. These do not belong to the highest standard of photography with too much drama and concept. I was just testing out the dual lens capabilities of the smartphone, its ability to take photos at night and on low light condition.

What I have noticed from using the Zenfone 3 Zoom is quick focus technology to capture photos. You can instantly target (or should I call it that way) your object and snap a picture. With the Laser Auto-Focus technology, you can take photos on a variable distance and lighting clarity in just 0.03 seconds.

Night shot with minimal light support

With the light sensitivity greater than a typical smartphone camera, the ZenFone 3 Zoom is the smartphone for me to take the ultra-clear and vivid night or low light shots and photography with backlit subjects.

This is not a thorough review of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. What I did was test out the camera of the smartphone in different settings. Enhancements were not made on the pictures and featured on the blog post as is (except for a little straightening of the light bulb since it was hard to take it while the object is overhead).

So far, I am liking the outcome of the dual lens of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. Soon, I will do some more photos and will try other settings available like the miniature setting and the long exposure. I am going to also test out the manual mode of the smartphone in the future. That will be posted here in my future blog post.

Overall final thoughts using the Zenfone 3 Zoom will be on my review very soon. For the meantime, you can check further about this amazing smartphone, here.

You can also check it online if you wish to get one for yourself. Visit The Official ASUS Philippines Store today. It is also available in the Official ASUS Store at Lazada Philippines.

I feel like a pro now. That fast, like Z∞m!
