PANDEMIC EATS: These Are My Favorite Restaurants In 2020 According To Foodpanda

PANDEMIC EATS: These Are My Favorite Restaurants In 2020 According To Foodpanda | Skip The Flip

I love food. I mean, I love food like how others love it, too. Before I isolated myself in the house when the Coronavirus disease pandemic hit the country, I fancied dining in at one of my favorite Chicken restaurants at Mango Avenue. But most of the time now, I look for something good to eat via the food delivery app, foodpanda, which was hanging its dear life on my smartphone because I never have tried to order food the previous years. When 2021 arrived, I received an email from foodpanda entitled “All you enjoyed in 2020.” I was amazed by the information it gave me and that’s what I’m going to share with you today.

According to the email, I have had 46 orders with foodpanda. My very first order was from Kka Chi Bun Sik Korean Snack House and it’s obvious because I’ve missed eating Korean food when dining in was prohibited due to the community quarantine and city lockdowns. As far as I can remember, I have got Tteokbokki Original, Original Kimbap, and a kilo of Kimchi.

Aside from Korean food, I also ordered from these restaurants from last year:

Tiktilaok – Robinson’s Cybergate
E&E’s Takuyaki – Super Metro
Minute Burger – Tres de Abril
The Queen Citea – Mango Square Mall
E&E’s Takuyaki – Robinsons Galleria
Shakey’s Pizza – Robinsons Cybergate
Tiktilaok! – Robinsons Fuente
Hebrews Shebrews – Robinsons Galleria
OK! Oppa’s Kitchen
McDonald’s – Cebu Jones
Jollibee – Jones
KKD STK + BBQ – Plaza Independencia
Booodotz Seafood Grill – Capitol
Ned Nanay’s Grill – Capitol
McDonald’s – E Mall

Fukubeya Gyoza – Archbishop Reyes
Lakwatsa Milktea House
Burger King – Cebu Escario
Island Tea Co. – Robinsons Cybergate
Rusty’s Chicken and Shrimp – Emall
Dairy Queen – Robinsons Cyber Gate Cebu
Ding How Dimsum House – Robinsons Galleria
Somac Korean Restaurant – Mabolo

If you have noticed, my food orders range from Korean, Japanese, and Filipino dishes. Of course, I cannot argue myself wanting to get items from the usual fast-food chains like Jollibee, McDonald’s, Shakey’s, and Burger King. And some milk teas on the side for drinks from The Queen Citea, Hebrews Shebrews, The Royal Tea Station, 8’s Tea Time, Formosa Taiwan Milk Tea, Lakwatsa Milktea House, and Island Tea Co.

Most Frequent Orders And Food Recommendations

As you can see from the tally above, majority of my orders are food items from OK! Oppa’s Kitchen – Capitol Site with 6 orders, then came E&E’s Takuyaki – Super Metro and Robinsons Galleria with 5 orders. Kka Chi Bun Sik Korean Snack House – Lahug followed with 3 orders. Because I love anything “Chicken”, Tiktilaok – Robinson’s Cybergate and Robinsons Fuente are on my list with 3 orders as well. For the drinks section, Formosa Taiwan Milk Tea – Mabolo served my 2 orders. With that said, I would like to recommend the food items I ordered from them for you to try:

Restaurants Recommended Food Items
OK! Oppa’s Kitchen – Capitol Site – Kimchi 16oz
– Fried Tteokbokki
– Seasoned Seaweed
– Ssamjang Paste 170g
E&E’s Takuyaki – Super Metro and Robinsons Galleria 12 Balls (Hot & Spicy or Sweet & Sour)
They only sell Takuyaki, but I recommend you ordering the 12 pieces
Kka Chi Bun Sik Korean Snack House – Lahug – Kimchi 1kg
– Tteokbokki Original with one boiled egg and fish cakes (odeng)
– Original Kimbap
Tiktilaok – Robinson’s Cybergate and Robinsons – Hearty Garlic Chicken
– Honey Roasted Chicken

You should also give Formosa Taiwan Milk Tea – Mabolo a try with their Formosa Cheesecake, Wintermelon Cheesecake, and most especially their best-seller Oreo Cheesecake Milk Tea.

In the case of Burger King, I really don’t go with their burgers and sandwiches. What I ordered from them mostly are their Angry Onions, Thick-Cut Fries, and Chicken Nuggets. For Minute Burger, it’s their Buy 1 Take 1 deal with a FREE bag of Leslie’s Farmer John Premium Chips that entice me to keep ordering from them.

Since I still love home-cooked-style Filipino food, good thing veggie dishes like Chosuey and Pinakbet are available at KKD STK + BBQ. On the other hand, Ned Nanay’s Grill soup dishes the Larang Isda and Sinigang Baboy are a must-try.
