Drop Dead Diva Is A Netflix Favorite

If you die and your soul will return to Earth and stay to another person’s body, whose body would that be? But on this Netflix favorite that I’ve had months ago, the main character didn’t have a choice to which body her soul would go to, let alone her dead body being used by another person’s soul. The TV series, “Drop Dead Diva” is a story about a rich and aspiring model, Deb, who died in a car accident while she’s on her way for an audition.

Unfortunately for Deb, when she sneaked out and persistently pressed the “Return” button in heaven, her soul went into the body of another person who is completely opposite to her personality, looks and likes. It went into Jane, a brilliant, hard-working, and plus size woman who works in a law firm.

Drop Dead Diva on Netflix

As I’ve mentioned earlier that a soul can only enter a body of a dead person, Jane died on the same day as Deb. She was shot in their office when a client arrived in their office. He was pointing a gun, came desperately looking for Jane’s boss who unintentionally slept with a woman who was the gunman’s wife.

Jane, when arriving in heaven, didn’t press the button because she was not told about it.

The story turns around the life of Deborah “Deb” Dobkins who died and came back to life when her soul went into Jane Bingum’s body. Very opposite to her lifestyle, Deb tried to “fix” Jane up and became more fashionable and more classy. However, her angel, Fred, advised her not be obvious with the changes, and she should not tell anyone about her being Deb on Jane’s body.

With Deb’s surprise when she reported for work (on Jane’s behalf), she found out that Jane was a colleague of her fiancé, Grayson. Since she was forbidden to tell anyone about her situation, and with the suspicion of Jane’s assistant, Teri, that she’s acting differently and her office mates being so shocked that she suddenly came back to work amidst the gunshot made her dead, she went into her best friend, Stacy, told her about her story and stayed at Stacy’s house.

Deb didn’t like the fate being the new Jane at the first place: her fashion style, her body, and her job. What let her like being Jane, however, is having the beyond average intelligence that every time she thinks of something, Jane’s memories and knowledge started to work on her and that amazed her.
